National Identity Card

A National Identity Card is one of the main documents required for passport renewals, affidavits and authentication A National Identity Card is issued to Zimbabwean citizens from the age of 16 The National Identity card is issued in Zimbabwe only. A lost one can therefore only be replaced in Zimbabwe. The renewal of a passport in the United Kingdom without a National ID is permitted before the applicant turns 25 years of age, after-which the applicant will need to travel to Zimbabwe by way of a Temporary Travel Document (or by way of the Passport if it has not Expired yet) and acquire a National Identity Card and then renew their passport in Zimbabwe. Renewal of a passport requires the applicant above 25 to have a National Identity Card or a Valid Passport when completing the forms.
